THE glamour couple of the tennis world is Maria Sharapova and her Bulgarian boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov.
Sharapova, 26, and Dimitrov, 22, got together last year and both are already in Melbourne.
Dimitrov, who is playing at the AAMI Kooyong Classic, said the pair work very well together.
"Things are going very good, we have a really good balance together,'' he said.
The tennis player said the pair enjoy doing normal things outside of tennis when they have the time.
"Indeed it's nice to spend time together, especially if we have a day off or half a day off... catch up and go to some great restaurants," he said.
His girlfriend is today launching her new Nike dress at Melbourne Central and conducted a workout for media.
Dimitrov has an Aussie connection, in the form of his new coach Roger Rasheed.
Rasheed has coached Lleyton Hewitt in the past and worked with Channel 7 in tennis commentary.
"We have a good relationship,'' he said of Rasheed.
"We work hard which is very important for us, and we are definitely enjoying our time together.
"He is tough but fair. And it's a long process.''
Dimitrov is trying hard to increase his knowledge about Aussie sports thanks to Rasheed.
"I'm getting better, to know about this cricket thing and other sports'' he said.
"I'm not very good with it but I'll get a grip on it.''
On the tennis court Dimitrov, who is ranked No.23 in the world, said everything is in place for a good year.
"I'm feeling good I know where I'm heading and what I want to do, I'm staying positive and I've really been working hard throughout the whole off season,'' he said.
"I'm happy to be back in Australia and hopefully it's the start of a great year."
